The most expensive glove sold at auction was Michael Jackson's white crystal glove. Jackson wore this glove when he first performed the famous moonwalk dance on the 1983 Motown 25 television special. The memorabilia auction was held on 21 November 2009 at the Julianne Auctions (USA) at Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, Manhattan. The initial bid of $ 10,000 immediately rose to $ 120,000 before rising to $ 350,000. Hoffman Ma, a Hong Kong businessman, auctioned off Michael Jackson's famous sequined glove for $ 350,000 on behalf of a holiday resort in Macau. He received a letter of authorization from Jackson's MJJ production company. The glove is now on display at the MJ Gallery in Ponte 16, Mecca, China.

Jackson once said of the gloves that appeared on television during Motown’s 25th anniversary show "Billie Jean" in 1983, “I felt one glove was cool. Wearing two seemed so ordinary. It became one of his costume hallmarks. He is a King of Pop and pop superstar died in the age of 50 in 2009.

At an auction in Texas, another white crystal studded glove of Michael Jackson sold in April 2020 for 85,000 ($ 104,189). An anonymous buyer from Texas also received a letter of authenticity with an envelope from Jackson's MJJ production company. The letter confirms that the glove was issued to UNICEF in 1998.
