World’s most expensive, precious and famous jewel is Hope Diamond. Hope diamond is also one of the most famous jewels in the world. It has been around for over 4 centuries and it is believed that the hope diamond belongs to India. It has a pendant and chain. The pendant around the Hope diamond has 16 white diamonds, which are pear shapes and cushion cuts. There are 45 white diamonds in the necklace chain. It is dark greyish blue colour due to boron atoms.

Hope diamond was in Indian temple used for an idol, then the priest had stolen the diamond due to its value and sold to the French gem merchant.

In 1666, French gem merchant Jean Baptiste Tavernier purchased the original stone from India. And he put his name Tavernier Blue.

Tavernier blue into French Blue

King Louis XIV purchased the Tavernier Blue in 1668. He cut the diamond into a triangle and set it on a gold chain. People called it the "blue diamond of the crown."

French Blue into Hope Diamond

During the French Revolution, French blue was stolen from the King Louis family. It was discovered in England a few years later at the hands of King George IV. Then this French Blue appeared in the Hope London banking family gem collection catalogue, and it is acquired "Hope" name.

After going through numerous owners, Mrs. McLean purchased the Hope Diamond. The Hope diamond is the most famous cursed diamond in the world. Hope Diamond is cursed because of people's greediness. All of the Hope Diamond Owners were committed suicide, financial ruin, suffering gangrene, torn into pieces by wild dogs, popularity decreases and died into the prison.
